Many reviews (Rock Paper Shotgun, and Indie Statik) and let's play video. I've got to go to work, then to my parents' tomorrow, and there's a last-minute, four-hour shoot that I have to do on Saturday before my grandfather's birthday party, so I probably better finish packing for the weekend and crash. This update is mainly focused on the inventory, chests, a central player menu and the power off abitlity.

So I partitioned the iMac's hard drive, installed Windows Vista Home Premium edition (which was the absolute fastest Windows install I've ever seen seriously, this thing was incredible), and I'm now using my iMac with Vista and OS X, and both work flawlessly. I still have Final Cut, which I like using a bit better anyway.

I lose Premiere support, though, as the last time I got a new version of Premiere was Pro 1.0. Luckily I have Photoshop CS2 (the CS2 generation runs with little issue, they're just not "officially" supported) and After Affects 7 Pro, so I'm fine there. Simply put, any Adobe programs older than the CS3 (read: newest) generation are not "officially" supported, and anything older than the CS2 generation just won't run. And its definition of "older" is extreme even for our ageist society. The problem is that Vista doesn't necessarily play well with older softer. I like the company, and having used it on Phe's computer a bit, I rather like Vista. Now, I'm certainly not a Microsoft hater like many. Unfortunately, you need a real copy of Windows, and even more unfortunately, Windows XP is at the end of its life cycle. Thankfully, after the switch from the PowerPC layout to the Intel chips, Apple was able to get Windows to run (extremely well, I might add) on their machines using a little program they whipped up called Boot Camp. Which is interesting, because I use a Mac. Well, in order to do that, I needed Windows.

I've heard nothing but good things about it however, so I figured I'd take advantage of the seven-day free trial, and see how it goes. I had somewhat turned my back on this latest major addition to the MMORPG field due to the fact that, owing to the nature of the license, there are no typical "magic users" a la the Wizards of EverQuest or the Mages of World of Warcraft. I decided that I wanted to give Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar a try.

I'm really, really, really looking forward to the wedding, but I'll be glad when it's cleared and things settle down some. I've never needed to keep a calendar before, and the whole thing is far more structured than I like. So between singing practice with Mom, wedding stuff, and work, I mapped out a calendar with my schedule, to find that every single weekend between now and the wedding is filled with one of the above. Also, dance recital/graduation/wedding season is here, which means there's a lot of extracurricular shooting. Thirdly, work is fun, if hectic and somewhat nerve-wracking, and it's only going to intensify as we get closer to BamaJam. As I mentioned previously, we picked out the tuxedos last week, and today we got our announcement picture taken (it's nice to work at the best photography studio around :)), as well as purchasing my ring (a classy and stylish number made of tungsten carbide) and Phe's wedding bands (two small white gold bands to surround her engagement ring). Secondly, wedding stuff is going very well. I trust my mother in saying that I can sing yes, she's my mom, but I know her well enough to know that if I sounded bad, her respect for music would lead her to A) tell me, or B) not have told me I could sing in the first place. I've done karaoke thrice in public (and one of those times was eight years ago.), and once at my own home.

What is is is the first time I've ever sung in public seriously. It's not a huge church, and it's not a huge congregation.

This is probably going to be rather scattershot.I'm waiting for the seven-day trial of Lord of the Rings Online to finish patching, so I've got some time, and I figured I'd go all personal for a change, rather than just random stolen internet memes.įirst off, I don't remember if I mentioned it before here or not, but my mom and I are going to be performing the entirety of the 5th Sunday Night Sing at her church.
